USA “deeply concerned” by the recent acts of violence in West Bank Israeli settlers, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said during a press conference with his Israeli counterpart Yoav Gallad near Tel Aviv.
“I am here as a friend who is deeply committed to the security of his state. Israelbut the US also remains vehemently opposed to any action that could further reduce security (…) and we are particularly concerned about settler violence against Palestinians,” Austin said.
At the same time, the US Secretary of Defense expressed strong concern about Iran’s progress in uranium enrichment, and Gallad said that all measures must be taken to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
