Its general secretary UN António Guterres condemned the “shocking” footage of a video showing a Ukrainian prisoner of war being summarily executed after shouting “Glory to Ukraine“.
“Recent shocking footage of a Ukrainian soldier who appears to have been executed is a tragic reminder that the rules of war must be strictly adhered to,” the UN Secretary General, along with the President of Ukraine, said in Kiev. Vladimir Zelensky.
António Guterres also said that it is extremely important to extend the agreement on the export of Ukrainian grain signed with Russia, which is of great importance for world food supplies. The agreement expires March 18.
“I want to emphasize the exceptional importance of extending the agreement and creating conditions that will allow more efficient use of the export infrastructure,” the UN Secretary General said.
