A new video released by the Ukrainian armed forces on social media shows how Kyiv gunners ambushed a group of Russian soldiers who were trying to advance through a valley near the town of Bakhmut.
Artillerymen of the 14th Brigade “Chervona Kalyna” – a unit named after a well-known Ukrainian patriotic song – struck a group of Russian soldiers, which the Ukrainian military calls mercenaries of the “Wagner” PMC.

Although the recording leaves no room for specific comments, an interesting aspect would be that the images directly in the direction of the advance of the Russian soldiers show numerous deep sinkholes filled with water, indicating that other bombings took place there in the past.
The image was geo-located independently based on many distinctive features that can be seen in the recording, both recent and older images. It happened in a valley near Spirne, a village about 30 kilometers northeast of the city of Bakhmut.

Russian soldiers died near a village with less than 100 inhabitants
Also, the other day, an absolutely stunning video appeared from Spirny, showing how a kamikaze drone of the Ukrainian troops disables a Russian tank after it managed to penetrate it precisely through the hatch of the commander of the combat vehicle.
Since the end of last year, heavy fighting has been going on near this village, where only 80 people lived before the start of the war.
In its latest assessment, the US Institute for the Study of War notes that Wagner’s mercenaries had made modest gains east of Spearn the day before.

Also on March 8, Yevgeny Prigozhin announced that his mercenaries managed to capture the entire eastern part of Bakhmut after more than six months of heavy fighting with huge losses from the Russian attackers.
At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi emphasized that Ukrainian troops will not retreat from Bakhmut, warning that the loss of this city in the Donetsk region will allow Russian troops to attack other important cities in eastern Ukraine.
“We understand that after Bakhmut he could go further. He could go to Kramatorsk, he could go to Slovyansk, it would be an open road for the Russians after Bakhmut to other cities of Ukraine, in the direction of Donetsk,” he said in an interview with CNN.
