Hellenic Train: OSE lawsuit pending since last year

A lawsuit against Hellenic Train’s OSE regarding the state of the railway network is pending before the multi-part court of first instance in Athens.

The claim for the payment of 1,149,000 euros (plus 275,000 VAT) is pending as of 12/29/2022, ERT reports.

Prior to the Tempi tragedy, Hellenic Train accused OSE of violating its obligations to properly maintain the rail infrastructure, arguing that “despite the inconvenience”, OSE did not begin troubleshooting, resulting in the company being charged “for additional maintenance work since September 14, 2017..

The company refers to the work performed from September 14, 2017 to February 28, 2019, at a cost of 1,149,000 euros.

“The above description of the state of the network goes back to the time period prior to September 14, 2017 and to omissions that could be addressed by granting appropriate powers to the OSE, which, however, chose to remain completely indifferent to these problems,” he argues in Hellenic Train.

“The aforementioned shortcomings and omissions on the part of OSE and its subsequent breach of its obligations to maintain the railway network have led to the need to solve the huge operational problems of the rolling stock used by Hellenic Train through works that could at least make it safe. and able to manage routes.
