UN: ‘Deeply Concerned’ by UK Illegal Immigration Bill

United Nations believe that the bill for the infringement immigration presented today by her government Britannia means “termination of the right to asylum” and called on London to make “more humane” decisions.

“If this law is passed, it will end the right to asylum by depriving those who enter the UK illegally of the right to seek refugee protection, no matter how urgent their request,” commented the UNHCR, demanding its review.

The High Commission is “deeply concerned”.

While expressing “deep concern” about the British government’s plan, the High Commission stressed that London would deprive the refugees “even of the opportunity to present their case”. This fact would constitute a flagrant violation of the Convention relating to the Status of Refugees.

“Most people fleeing war and persecution simply cannot obtain passports and the necessary visas. They do not have safe and legal ways,” the High Commission stressed. “To deny them access to asylum on this basis offends the very principle on which the Refugee Convention was founded,” the UN agency insists.
