The successor to the Lamborghini Aventador is ready soon. So far, we’ve only seen photos of various prototypes under development.
From now on, this is the first official information about the Sant’Agata Bolognese distillery, in particular engine of the new project “LB744”.pending final model name.
A new paradigm born to take you beyond your limits.
Its code name is LB744. This is our first HPEV (High Performance Electrified Vehicle) V12 hybrid super sports car.

The first ever Lamborghini PHEV
Let’s go straight to the point. The Lamborghini Aventador will be replaced by an atmospheric 6.5-liter V12 that develops 825 hp. at 9250 rpm and 725 Nm of torque at 6750 rpm.
It will be connected to three electric motors only 1015 hp. The drivetrain is all-wheel drive, with two electric motors at the front (one per wheel) and one electric motor at the rear, paired with a new eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission behind the V12, which replaces the Aventador’s seven-speed gearbox. single clutch
This is the first hybrid model for Lamborghini. Equipped with a lithium-ion batteryCapacity 3.8 kW/h, it can be charged in 30 minutes on an AC network with a maximum power of 7 kW. Using regenerative braking and the V12 while the car is moving, the battery can be charged in just six minutes.
Echoes of the past
The Aventador replacement is also built on a new platform that echoes its ancestors, the Lamborghini Miura and other Lamborghini Countachs. Indeed, like the Miura, this new model has a gearbox mounted transversely behind the engine, which is rotated 180° compared to the Aventador. The space gained by the absence of a central tunnel is now used to integrate a lithium-ion battery.
So this new Lamborghini doesn’t have a supercapacitor like the Lamborghini Sian, but a “real” battery, making it an HPEV (Lamborghini’s acronym stands for High Performance Electrified Vehicle) in line with its more traditional name, namely PHEV (Plug- in hybrid electric vehicles ), to which plug-in hybrid cars are classified.
The new Lamborghini V12, which is more often called “L545” domestically, has a working volume of 6.5 liters. It’s lighter and more powerful than the old Bull V12s: it weighs 218 kg (i.e. 17kg less than the Aventador engine) and as mentioned earlier it is oriented 180°.
After this first piece of information, Lamborghini should be releasing more soon. The presentation of the model is expected on next weeks. We will gradually discover all the intricacies of this new supercar, which promises to be truly exciting once again.
