House: Minute of silence in memory of Tempe accident victims Cabinet: Tempe tragedy is the only topic on Thursday’s agenda

A moment of silence “in memory of the victims of the tragic accident” in Tempi honored the plenum of Parliament.

“I hope that this incision that has opened in the souls of all of us, and first of all families, will be noticed,” said Parliament Speaker Konstantinos Tasoulas, stressing that the triptych awaiting Parliament – and which calls for diagnosis, correction and responsibility – we can manage, we can respond.”

We owe a lot, Mr. Tasoulas noted, “to the memory of people who died violently and unjustly, we owe this to our own mistakes, we also owe this to the oath we took a few years ago.”

Cabinet: Tragedy in Tempe is the only topic on the agenda on Thursday

Issues of the tragic accident in the city of Tempe (possible institutional steps, interventions to be taken immediately, etc.) will be at the center of the next cabinet meeting on Thursday, March 9, chaired by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

According to government sources, there will be no other items on the agenda.

On Friday, March 10, the Prime Minister will visit the President of the Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou. The visit, according to the same sources, takes place within the framework of their monthly regular meetings and is not connected with anything else.

SYRIZA wants high-level conflict in parliament

All weekend Alexis Tsipras was in Komunduru, planning further steps with his closest associates in connection with the national tragedy in Tempi. He pointed out that national mourning and respect for the victims and their families require careful steps, which, however, will not weaken the party’s goal to highlight the responsibility that exists for the neglect of the railways.

When asked by “K” to a presidential ally, if the party’s plan included submitting a question to the prime minister or requesting an early debate in parliament, the answer indicated the intentions: “Everything will be done on time.” As soon as the information about the non-holding of elections on April 9 is confirmed, all available parliamentary funds will be thrown on the table.
