The organizers of Indian Wells drew the tournament tables, and Sorana Kirstya and Iryna Begu found out their opponents in the first round of the “WTA 1000” competition.
So, Kirsteya (83 WTA) will concede in the first round over a a player who arrived from qualifying. If she gets through that, Sorana will face the American in the second round Madison Keys (favourite 19, directly accepted at this stage of the competition).
On the other side of the picture, Ask (38 WTA) will play in the first round against the Czech Republic Linda Noskova (18 years old, 54 WTA). If he defeats her, Iryna will meet her Amanda Anisimova (favorite 31).

Romania has one more representative in the qualification from Indian Wells, next Gabriela Ruse (147 WTA).
Gabriela reached the last round of qualification after defeating Tereza Martinsova (113 WTA), score 6-1, 6-4.
For a place in the main draw in Indian Wells, Ruse will meet with Kristina Buksa (90 WTA, second favorite of qualification).

Indian Wells will take place from March 6-19 on hard, with 96 players in each of the two main draws. The contest offers $8,800,000 each for men and women. Titled champions – Taylor Fritz and Iga Svyatek.
The main favorites for Indian Wells-2023: Iga Svyatek (1), Aryna Sabalenko (2), Jessica Pegula (3), Ons Jaber (4), Caroline Garcia (5), Coco Gauff (6), Maria Sakkari (7), Darya Kasatkina (8).
