PSD leader Marcel Ciolacu said on Monday night that the Bastro canal is currently one of Romania’s red lines and that everything has now entered the “technical sphere” and is about to return to normal. Cholaku said he supports Transport Minister Sorin Grindeana’s approach to the Bastro Canal.

Marcel Ciolacu said Monday night on Romanian television that he supports Sorin Grindeana in his approach regarding the Bastro channel, News.ro reports.

“Bastro Canal is one of the red lines, not only for me, but also for Romania. Sorin Grindeanu has done the right thing and I fully support him in all his endeavors for the Bastro channel. We do not balance. Romania helped Ukraine as much as it could, at all possible levels and will continue to help. But there are international things, regardless of the situation, that we must respect. It is not allowed that the Ministry of Transport does not know or is not officially informed about what is happening on the Ukrainian side,” said Marcel Cholaku.

The PSD president added that everything will return to normal.

“I believe that the matter has entered the technical sphere and a very important fact has come to a standstill. The litter brings it back to the Danube. At this moment we entered the dyspomatic zone, together with specialists, the European Commission also got involved, we leave them to return to normal. I repeat, I support and support Sorin Grindeana, unconditionally for this approach,” said Marcel Cholaku.​
