
Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk won the first WTA title in her career, defeating Russian Varvara Grachova in the final of the tournament in Austin (category WTA 250).

Ranked 52 at the start of the competition, Marta defeated Varvara (88 WTA) after an hour and 31 minutes of play with a score of 6-3, 7-5.
Both players had a lot of trouble on serve, and a total of 13 breaks were made (8 in the first set and 5 in the second).
Kostiuk (8th seed) also defeated Dalma Galfi (WTA 83), Madison Brengle (WTA 95), Anna-Lena Friedsam (WTA 108) and Danielle Collins (WTA 38) during the US competition.
Thanks to the triumph in Austin, Marta Kostyuk rose to the 40th place in the WTA ranking (the best ranking in her career). On the other hand, Varvara Grachova managed to jump up 22 positions (now she is 66).
