At least one person was injured in southern Russia’s Belgorod region on Monday after Russian forces shot down three missiles, the governor of the region on the border with Ukraine said, Reuters reported.

Debris from the landed missile also hit several power lines near the city of Novy Oskol, but the full extent of the damage is currently unknown, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said in a Telegram message on Monday morning.

“One person is known to be injured, a man with a shrapnel wound in his arm,” Gladkov said.

He did not say who he believed fired the rockets, but in the past has blamed Ukrainian forces on the border for similar attacks.

Bilhorod borders Ukraine’s Kharkiv region and has been the target of various attacks since the beginning of the Russian invasion. Ukraine almost never publicly takes responsibility for attacks inside Russia.
