“Working somewhere and feeling bad is very important. Among other things, it has to do with the time we have in this world and how we use it. This means that we do not enjoy the greatness of life.” If one sentence sums up the mindset of Konstantinos Raikos, which, among other things, led him to invent a different way to manage his business based on employee satisfaction, then this is it. We don’t have time to not have fun. And this applies to him too.
There were days like this last year when “K” published a report for the first company in Greece, the accounting services group KRS, which adopted a six-hour working day while maintaining an eight-hour wage. This article went viral, everyone wanted to know more about the entrepreneur who believes that only improving the quality of life of employees can increase their productivity.
10 prizes
A year later, the bet seems to have been won. February 14 on the 3rd issue Finance and Accounting Awardsin which the most effective and innovative practices of accounting and financial management were noted, KRS Group named “Consulting Company of the Year” with a total of ten performance awards.
“Productivity increased by 50%, but the main thing is that our company has happy people with an appetite for life and development!” he says. Konstantinos Raykos in “K”.

Personal development
This was the reason for the six-hour day policy: to set aside two hours of the life of the workers, which they could use for personal development. “The personal development of an employee affects the entire company. Our goal is to make sure that the employees of the company maintain balance in their lives. It is important that people are happy,” he continues. Other developments have taken place over the past year. Now, men and women are offered a childbirth allowance (up to 1,000 euros), as well as a study allowance for those who want to expand their knowledge (also 1,000 euros). “People should not be afraid to start a family or study!” Most important to Mr. Raiko, however, is the hospital care package offered to all employees. Having been ill with cancer himself several years ago, he knows firsthand what can happen in anyone’s life at any moment, as well as how devastating financial treatment can be. “I wanted to provide this program to my team.”
Another innovation – if an employee leaves, retirement is organized! Everyone gets together, eats, talks. An opportunity is provided to express gratitude to the departing person, as well as to others, in order to resolve any questions about their departure. “We are trying to make the relationship between employee and employer less criminal,” says Mr. Raikos. “Personally, I saw the resignation as parting! I thought he was devaluing me, so complicated. That’s why I tried to justify myself, throw a party for the one who’s leaving, and… refuse me,” she says with a laugh.
Better work
“The work culture always works for the good of the company,” says Mr. Raikos. “Having won the trust of an employee, the client collects it, he sends me to another place. I’m a businessman, I like to win, but I like other people to win too, not to step on them, so I can win.” Now it also works better. “When you have a calm team, it comes back to you. I can spend 20 hours thinking about developing a strategy or methodology, but it’s another thing to think knowing that there’s panic outside.”
During this time, many other businessmen approached him with questions about how the group worked. “Some want to apply it to their company, some tell us we’re ruining the market.”
