The mobilization of the state apparatus on the night of the tragedy was immediate, but there were details that accidentally helped the situation. One of them was that the accident occurred at the time of the ECAV shift change, as a result of which all the ambulances gathered in Larisa and drove directly to the scene of the tragedy. In this way, it was possible to transfer the maximum possible force, which would not have happened if the accident had occurred at a different time.
Bodies in patrol cars
However, the accident was such that the ambulances did not arrive, making police assistance critical at all levels. Patrol cars carried the dead and wounded to hospitals, and the police as a whole did a very important job, as they were constantly there to meet the needs. And most importantly, the police laboratory was engaged in DNA identification, since it is the only one that has such a mechanism.
Till Wednesday
National mourning officially ended yesterday Friday, but in fact it continues. All scheduled events and speeches by party officials have been canceled until at least Wednesday (we’ll see) because the accident in Tempe on Tuesday evening is too bad for events to happen so soon. As for the parliamentary elections, there is still no discussion here.

With an angry post, the deputy from Larisa N.D. Stella Biziou complains that “some vile provocateurs by name” are trying to connect her with the station master, saying that his daughter works in her office. “I will immediately go to court with a request for the full restoration of the truth and, of course, I will go to court against anyone who dares to use my name in this tragic case,” the ND deputy concluded.
“A war is coming
The parties still maintain a restrained tone on the issue of the tragedy, but legally it cannot continue like this, since yesterday the confrontation began, which in four years will certainly reach the highest level, just like we have just – it is not known how long – from the elections. Popi Tsapanidu asked the government questions, demanding answers, to which G. Oikonomu replied that everything would be said in time with documents and signatures. Of course, yesterday’s exchange of statements is only a prelude to the upcoming very tough confrontation.

Health Minister Thanos Plyuris, speaking to SKAI, denounced Hellenic Train, saying that “as the Ministry of Health, we received no help from the company” and “none of its employees came to the hospitals to help us.” The report was apparently made out of confusion over the lack of a detailed list of passengers as the company did not know exactly how many were on the train or their names as the tickets were not named. And this is only one detail, since there are still a lot of questions that led to the tragedy and they still ask for answers.
