
Federal police said on Thursday that a six-year-old boy was shot and killed by a four-year-old in an Aboriginal community in the Canadian province of Manitoba.
The incident took place on Monday evening at a home of the Pegi First Nations community, 185 km north of the city of Winnipeg, where children “had access to firearms,” according to a Canadian police statement.
“A 4-year-old child fired a shot, wounding a 6-year-old,” the report said. A six-year-old boy was taken to hospital with injuries, but a few days after hospitalization he was discharged and returned to his familybroadcasts on the CBC network.
During a search of a particular house, the police seized five firearms, a crossbow and ammunition.
The man was arrested and charged with illegal possession of weapons.
