
Argentina Menis, the multiple discus champion, has died at the age of 74, according to the Romanian Athletics Federation.

The silver medalist of the 1972 Olympic Games and the silver medalist of the 1974 European Games, Argentinian Menis set a world record (67.32 m/1972) and three Olympic records (61.38 m/1972, 64.28 m/1972, 65.06 m/ 1972).
She was a master of sports and an honorary master of sports.
She received the title of “Honorary Coach” for her work as a coach of the “Dynamo Bucharest” club and the results obtained by the athletes she managed.
She was a member of the Romanian Olympic Committee (1977-1982) and was awarded the Order of Sports Merit / Class II (1973), the Medal of Sports Merit / Class I (1976), the National Medal of Faithful Service / Class I (2000) and the Order of “Sports Merit / I degree” (2004).
Burial with religious and military rites will take place on Sunday at Bello Catholic Cemetery.
