CFR Cluj managed to win at home against UTA, 2-1, in a match with all components, a disallowed goal, a missed penalty and elimination after a terrible start to the 28th stage of the Superliga.

CFR Cluj – UTA 2-1, in the Super League

Dan Petrescu’s men started the match well and opened the scoring in the 15th minute, when Ermal Krasnici shot past the post from inside the penalty area.

Six minutes later, the referee very easily shows Rusandu 11 meters after Chindrish’s interference in the penalty area on Maglica. Cyprian Deak takes the penalty, but it goes wide of Kucher’s goal.

In the extra time of the first half, Dzang manages to score, but VAR disallows the goal for a foul.

The “Aradians” started the second half excellently and equalized the score thanks to Raresh Pop, who again scored the ball into the goal.

CFR Cluj took the lead in the 63rd minute following Deak’s free-kick as Jury fired home from the center of the box.

In the 70th minute, the Romanian champions were reduced to 10 players, with Anton Maglitsa red-carded after a heavy boot to the ankle of Vukcevic, who was unable to continue the game.

The final found UTA on the attack, unsuccessfully running for the equalizer.

CFR Cluj is in second place with 59 points, two less than leader Farul. UTA remains penultimate in the Super League with 24 points.
