Kia will introduce an SUV at the end of March, which will be called the EV9 and will be the largest model (by size) in its European lineup. Kia already has several electric cars in its range, the price of which is between 45,000 and 70,000 euros.

The EV9 will be the largest model Kia has built, with a wheelbase (distance between the axles) of 3,100 mm.

No price and range details have been announced, but the cost is likely to be somewhere around €100,000, placing the car above the EV6 in Kia’s range. It will not be a model designed to be sold in large volumes.

The most powerful electric Kia is the EV6 GT with a range of 370 km, a maximum speed of 260 km/h and a price of more than 70,000 euros.

The “flagship” model EV9 will be based on an architecture called Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), which was used on other cars of the South Korean group, such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Hyundai Ioniq 6 and Genesis GV60.

The Hyundai-Kia group sold 157,000 electric cars in Europe, ranking fourth among automotive groups after Volkswagen, Tesla and Stellantis.
