The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated that, despite the difficulties, Ukrainians were provided with electricity and heating during this cold season. “Winter is over. It was very difficult, and, without exaggeration, every Ukrainian felt this difficulty. But still, we managed to provide Ukraine with electricity and heat,” he said.

In a message sent on Wednesday evening, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that during the day he had several important meetings, one of which was devoted to the energy sector, in which industry companies, the government, his cabinet, the head of the specialized committee of the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian of Parliament), representatives of the army and special services, News.ro reports.

“Winter is over. It was very difficult, and, without exaggeration, every Ukrainian felt this difficulty. But it was still possible to provide Ukraine with electricity and heat. Yes, the threat to the power system remains. But the struggle for the power system continues. At the energy meeting, we set current tasks to ensure that this heating season goes well. And we have already started to prepare for the next season – each member of the meeting received his part of work on this matter. We see the risks, we will find an answer,” he emphasized.

The President of Ukraine added that he had discussed with those who are responsible for various areas of the state’s defense.

“We keep under control all directions on the front line. Khortytsia, Tavria, Odesa, the north – the situation was reported in the last day. In addition to frontline areas, we also pay attention to frontline areas. Those cities and districts that are subjected to Russian bombardment every day and every night. Purposeful terror,” Zelenskyi said.

So he listed the city of Nikopol and other settlements of Dnipropetrovsk region, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson region and region, the front-line part of Donbas, Kharkiv region and region, Sumy and Chernihiv region.

“Now we have managed to ensure relative security in most of the territory of our country, perhaps you do not feel how those who live in the border areas with Russia, who live in the south of the country, live. Where is the bombing? Where people are not at the front, but take a direct part in the war. Where Russia is constantly trying to destroy everything that the people have. Constant – and this is not an exaggeration. As we prepare the actions of our military, defense and security forces, we want to say that these actions will gradually restore security to those currently on the front lines. Every hoisting of our flag will mean people’s safety. In the territories that will be freed from occupation. In those territories that will reach beyond the front. And in those border territories, where the defeat of the occupier will finally bring peace,” Zelenskyy continued.

He added that he is grateful to those who help his country in these actions, and thanks those who do everything possible to preserve normal life in the front-line territories of Ukraine: the State Service for Emergency Situations, the police, social and administrative services, local authorities, businesses and volunteers

“Special thanks to all border guards and other fighters who resist the enemy! And special gratitude to the fighters who destroy the fire positions of the occupiers, destroying the material and technical support of the enemy and precisely leading Russia to defeat. To the inevitable defeat,” concluded Zelensky.
