Full name Just Louis Fontaine, former football player was born on August 18, 1933 in Marrakech. He played for USM Casablanca, Nice and Reims during his career.
He played for the national team “Cocoșului galic” between 1953 and 1960, scoring 30 goals in 21 games.
Fontaine holds a 65-year-old record: he is the footballer with the most goals scored in a single World Cup. He scored 13 goals (in six games) in the 1958 edition of the final tournament.
Fontaine played his last game in July 1962, forced to prematurely end his football career at the age of just 28 years and 11 months due to injury.
