“In four years we will have a new NSS”

“NHS reform is one of the top priorities for the next four years, as long as the Greek people trust us again,” said Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis yesterday, who took part in a health conference organized by ygeiamou.gr and “Proto Theme“.

“In four years, we will have a new National Health Service,” Mr Mitsotakis said, speaking of a complete overhaul of the country’s hospital map, better organization of services and infrastructure upgrades. The Prime Minister called Mr. Tsipras’ statement that our country has a very poor mortality rate from COVID a lie. As Mr Mitsotakis noted, “It pisses me off when I hear a leader of the official opposition trying to micro-politics on an issue that has become a global problem for all health systems.” He added that excess mortality determines how health systems respond to a pandemic.

“Mr. Tsipras cannot be unaware of this. Either he is completely inappropriate, or he is systematically lying.” Mr. Mitsotakis completely disagrees with Mr. Tsipras’ assessment that the SNB has been in the worst condition since its inception. “Mr Tsipras will lead this healthcare system if he wins the election,” he said. So nullifying it also doesn’t serve his own purposes, unless he takes it for granted that he won’t win the election.”
