The director of the district library from Tirgu-Giu, Olimpia Brata, was found hanged on Tuesday in the premises of the institution. She would leave a note explaining her gesture, News.ro reports.

“On February 28 of this year, Tirgu Jiu Municipal Police was informed by means of an emergency call that a woman was found hanged in the premises of a public institution in Tirgu Jiu Municipality. The policemen, who went to the scene, found that she was a 52-year-old woman from Tirgu-Zhiu municipality. The woman no longer showed signs of life, and the medical staff declared her dead,” the Gorzh district police reported.

Judicial sources told News.ro that it is about the director of the district library in Tirgu Jiu Olimpia Bratu. She would leave a farewell note.

The woman’s body was taken to the Gorzh forensic medical service for an autopsy. Investigations are ongoing, criminal proceedings under the article “Involuntary manslaughter” have been opened.
