Angelique Kerber wants to return to the court at the US Open 2023
In October 2022, the German player gave an interview to Bild, in which she talked about the timing of her return to tennis.
The ex-WTA leader indicated that she wants to return to the field at the US Open 2023, but does not rule out a possible return to Wimbledon, depending on her physical condition.
“I think I’ll be back before the end of the year. New York, not Wimbledon, but if there is an opportunity to play at Wimbledon, I would love to do it. I won’t rush because when I come back I want to do it right. I will attack from the first and will not play in tournaments to prepare.
I will not leave the child at home. There will definitely be a babysitter. I don’t want to be completely out of control. Now I have more time, I can enjoy everything and approach everything more relaxed” – Angelique Kerber.
The Wimbledon tournament starts on July 3, 2023, and the US Open – on August 28, 2023.
