The EL.AS investigation is ongoing. for the arrest of a 33-year-old man who escaped on Tuesday morning from a courthouse in Thessaloniki. He was convicted in the second degree by a three-person misdemeanor court for being an accessory to the theft and sentenced to 5 months in prison.

However, because he did not meet the terms of the suspension, the court ruled that he should serve his sentence. According to the information, he was taken to the office for attestation of court expenses, from where, apparently, he eluded the attention of the police and managed to escape.

The APE information states that the prisoner was not handcuffed.
