15 years ago, several entrepreneurs, freelancers, and startups talked about creating a workspace focused on community, collaboration, interaction, and creativity. A place where people from different industries and specializations can work, communicate, learn and develop through a variety of interactions that are more unique than in a typical office.

The proposal was revolutionary for those times. Idealistic and even sometimes naive, considering the realities of work at that time.

However, now, when the demand for greater work flexibility is increasing, accelerated by the pandemic, new technologies, as well as the need of younger generations in the labor market to work in a more creative and interactive space, the concept of “coworking” (places created specifically to receive people who come to work into one space from different industries, companies and with different responsibilities) quickly turned into a global phenomenon.

This has disrupted not only traditional work models, but also other sectors, including one that doesn’t immediately catch the eye: real estate.
