US President Joe Biden said today that the news agreement between London and the European Union on a post-Brexit amendment to trade agreements for Northern Ireland is a “major step” in maintaining the peace called for in the Good Friday Agreement.
“I appreciate the efforts of leaders and officials from all sides who have worked tirelessly to find a path forward that will secure Northern Ireland’s place in the UK domestic market as well as the EU single market for the benefit of all communities in Northern Ireland.” Biden said in a statement.
