Annoyed that PAOK were not awarded a penalty in the first half (following Erramouspe’s handball), Lucescu vented his anger at a press conference, speaking in English.

“Guys, it’s very simple. VAR must correct mistakes. VAR still exists in Greece only to “screw PAOK””. Lucescu saidand then repeating “dick”.

After PAOK’s press secretary asked the coach to be careful with his language, he continued.

“I’m sorry, but this is the situation. There are rules in football. If it’s a penalty, it’s a penalty. If offside, then offside. Not for us either. It’s not even a penalty, not even offside. We have dropped four points in our last three games.

This is football. There are rules and we follow them. Football is different in Greece. Football, rules, but not about PAOK. To hell with PAOK!” – Rezvan Lucescuquoted by sportal.gr.

Lucescu also talked about the 2017/18 season, when AEK won the title and PAOK finished second.

“The only country where the championship is stolen and given to another team. The only one in Europe. In the world, I don’t know, maybe there are more” – Rezvan Lucescu.
