Ms. Mitsotakis from Grevena: “Spring elections have their own criticality”

Call for military service due to elections“in the great struggle to continue lifting Greece high with a New Democracy confident and strong,” the Prime Minister said. Kyriakos Mitsotakisduring his speech to the people of Grevena, who greeted him in the town square.

Mr. Mitsotakis raised the election dilemmas and characteristically said, “Now compare the New Democracy four-year period to the previous four-year period of SYRIZA and you are faced with a clear choice: are we going forward or are we going back?” Will we stay in tax cuts or come back? to over-taxing the middle class, will we still have a country that is secure, defends its borders, counts on Europe, or will we return to the days of the third world and other geopolitical worries?

We face dilemmas, and therefore the spring elections are of particular importance. And I have no doubt that the Greek people have both memory and prudence, and know well what is their interest, both individual and collective. I have no doubt that this will finally send the signal that a strong New Democracy must continue on this path to relegation, to progress.”

Regarding the pre-election confrontation, the Prime Minister noted that he was not interested in polarization and fruitless confrontations, and stressed: “I am not going to do one thing. For the sake of the pre-election period, I’m not going to be tempted to order things from you that I know I won’t be able to do tomorrow. I leave it to others, who also have great experience in tearing up memorandums with one law and one article, and then plunge us even deeper into the third memorandum in order to finally crush the bourgeoisie. We look forward confidently, we talk about our work, we talk about the future, we are not interested in fruitless confrontations, we are not interested in bitterness, we are not interested in polarization, and I think you are not interested either. Citizens care about who will solve their problems. From now on, we will respond to every challenge, but we will continue to fight with confidence and trust for your own advantage, for your own good.”

The Prime Minister said that his government has been successful despite the great difficulties and crises it has faced and stressed: “The ship of the motherland is safe today and all Greeks feel more secure because, despite the difficulties, we succeeded and kept the centerpiece of our campaign commitments. We’ve cut taxes, created more jobs, strengthened our borders. Yes, because the sea also has borders that need to be protected.

He referred to the support that the government has provided and is providing to society, businesses and workers, and promised to continue to support vulnerable social groups not through taxing the middle class, but through development.

The Prime Minister touched upon issues related to the Grevena prefecture, said he was optimistic about the prospects for its development, and promised that his government would continue to support the region in the implementation of necessary projects.

He said that he had previously visited mushroom factories and stressed that Grevena is the mushroom capital of Greece and can become the mushroom capital of Europe and the world.

As for the ski center Vasilitsa, he said that it is “the queen of ski centers in Greece” and should be the first ski center in the country.

He pointed out that the Grevena Police School, which was closed in 2012, will reopen in September and even commented that the school was opened under Konstantinos Mitsotakis and is reopening under the New Democracy government.

The Prime Minister was welcomed by Deputy Minister of Transport Michalis Papadopoulos, Governor of Western Macedonia Giorgos Kasapidis, Mayor of Kastoria Giorgos Dastamanis, members and friends of New Democracy.

Mr. Mitsotakis shook hands with the townspeople, took pictures with them and exchanged wishes for Halloween and the upcoming Lent.
