Like all other major video streaming services, Apple TV+ will eventually have an ad-supported version, which the American giant seems to be working on now.

Apple has just hired advertising executive Lauren Frye to develop the advertising business for Apple TV+, according to company sources cited by The Information.

Apple TV+ does not currently have an ad-supported plan, as it is one of the few major services of its kind that is only available in a premium version.

An ad-supported subscription should have a lower price, but may have different restrictions. As for other services, the ad-supported versions either do not offer all the features (such as the download function) or do not contain all the products available in the premium version.

It’s not yet known what approach Apple will take, what the price will be, or when the upcoming ad-supported version of Apple TV+ will be released. What is certain is that it is only a matter of time.

The ad-supported version of Apple TV+ fits right in with the company’s new strategy of trying to increase ad revenue.

Along these lines, Apple has recently increased the number of ads it displays in the App Store and plans to introduce ads in several of its apps, including books, maps, and podcasts. (News.ro)
