A video of the activities of the gang appeared on the network, which committed thefts in electronics and mobile phone stores in various parts of Attica and Evia.

According to a Greek police statement, as part of an organized operation on Thursday morning by members of the Sub-Directorate for the Investigation of Crimes Against Life and Property, with the assistance of the Crime Prevention and Combating Units (OPKE), 11 members of the criminal organization were detained, including the leader.

As it turned out as a result of the investigation, the defendants had created and joined a criminal organization since at least the summer of 2022, with a constant and structured activity to commit thefts from electronics and mobile phone stores.

Members of the organization moved in groups of several and found stores, which they then targeted. When they entered them in pairs, they hired employees until one of the members disabled the alarm sensors and removed some product.

At the same time, the role of each member of the organization was specified, namely:

– the lead member was responsible for organizing and coordinating the thefts, determining the location of the “target” stores, determining the composition and recruiting of other participants,

– another member, as the owner of a health shop in the center of Athens, undertook further disposal of stolen goods through his clients, while

– the rest of the members had an operational role during the thefts.

During searches conducted in 4 houses, the following were found and seized:

• shop pistol and a copy of the pistol,
• semi-automatic rifle,
• saber, knife and cartridge,
• 2 cars
• 5 electric bikes and an electric skateboard,
• the number of mobile phones, SIM cards and electronic devices (tablet, laptop, etc.),
• mobile phone packaging
• fake ID and driver’s license,
• bank and savings cards of various banks and
• trace amounts of cannabis.

It is worth noting that the detainees were accused of similar crimes in the past, and the investigation to fully establish the extent of their criminal activities is ongoing.

The detainees, against whom a criminal case has been initiated, were taken to the competent prosecutor’s office.
