
Former Hollywood producer mogul Harvey Weinstein he was sentenced to another 16 years in prison on charges of rape and sexual harassment.

More than 80 people have come forward with allegations of rape and abuse by Weinstein, with the alleged incidents dating back to the 1970s. He denied all accusations, arguing that all alleged sexual acts were consensual.
On December 19, a Los Angeles jury found Weinstein guilty of one count of rape and two counts of sexual assault against an actress model who was introduced in court as Jane Doe 1 to preserve her anonymity.
The alleged victim testified that Mrs. Weinstein attacked her in a hotel room during the Los Angeles Film Festival in February 2013.
Weinstein was acquitted at the same trial of three more counts of sexual assault involving a female plaintiff. While the jury failed to reach a verdict on three more allegations of sexual harassment.
For his part, Weinstein is likely to appeal those decisions.
The once powerful man in the Hollywood film industry has been sentenced to 18 years in prison by a Los Angeles court. He avoided a 24-year sentence as the jury failed to reach a consensus on whether Weinstein intentionally committed the rape or whether the victim was in a “specially vulnerable position.”
