President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu will be on a working visit to Bucharest on Thursday at the invitation of President Klaus Iohannis, who will receive her at the Cotrocen Palace, the presidential administration said. The meeting comes shortly after Sandu attended Joe Biden’s speech at the Royal Castle in Warsaw at the invitation of the leader from the White House.

The political consultations of Presidents Klaus Iohannis and Maia Sandu are part of a comprehensive structure of close bilateral and European cooperation, as well as Romania’s clear and firm support for the Republic of Moldova and its stability.

“During the discussions, joint projects of strategic interest in the fields of energy, transport, health care, education and information society will be considered, with an emphasis on initiatives aimed at connecting the Republic of Moldova with the European Union, with real and concrete advantages. for citizens of the Republic of Moldova. At the same time, the status and support of Romania regarding the European path of the Republic of Moldova will be discussed,” the Presidential Administration informed.

The two presidents will also exchange views on security challenges, as well as ways to manage the economic, social and humanitarian consequences of Russian aggression in Ukraine.
