
The 23 arrests were made by the Attica Aliens Authority in a special operation to prevent and combat crime in the wider area of the center of Athens and to identify illegal foreign nationals who do not have the necessary documents for their stay in Greece, which was carried out yesterday, Tuesday.
In particular, the operation took place in the squares of Omonia, Vatis, Victoria, Agios Panteleimonas and Kotsias, as well as in the Kerameikos area.
According to the Greek police, checks were carried out on 323 people, of whom 27 were taken to the headquarters of the Athens Immigration Management Department to verify their information.
Of the specific arrests, 23 turned into arrests. In particular, 22 did not have the necessary documents to stay in Greece, and a 29-year-old foreigner was under investigation.
