
Greek citizenship was conferred on a professor Kevin Featherstoneat a special ceremony held in Maximos Palace.
Kevin Featherstone took the oath of Greek citizenship in the presence of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in front of Secretary General for Citizenship Athanasios Balerbas.
Kevin Featherstone is Professor of Modern Greek Studies, Eleftherios Venizelos Chair and Professor of European Politics at the London School of Economics.
He is also director of the Hellenic Observatory, recognized worldwide as one of the leading research centers in modern Greece and Cyprus. The Greek Observatory is part of the LSE European Institute.
Kevin Featherstone’s academic research focuses on the European Union and contemporary Greece in the areas of comparative politics, public policy, and political economy.
He was the first non-Greek member of the National Council for Research and Technology in Greece from 2010 to 2013.
In 2013, he was awarded the “Brigadier of the Order of the Phoenix” award by the President of the Hellenic Republic, and in 2021, the “Senior Brigadier of the Order of the Phoenix” award of the Hellenic Republic.
