
Romanian tennis player Marius Copil managed to win the qualifying final and enter the main draw of the contenders tournament in Roverto (Italy).
Reaching the 395th ATP position, Marius Kopil overcame the third favorite of the qualification of the Spaniard Alejandro Moro Canas (297 ATP) after two sets, 7-6, 6-3 and an hour and 46 minutes of play.
In the first round, Kopil will meet Poland’s Katzper Zuk, who is ranked 260 in the world.
The best position of the Romanian athlete is 56 ATP in January 2019. He earned $2,627,637 in tennis and won the Futures tournaments in Romania (2007, 2008) and Guatemala (2010).
Another Romanian in the main draw in Rovereto, Filip Gianu (267 ATP), ended his career in the second set of the match against Japan’s Kayachi Uchida (195 ATP), losing the first set.
