
​Boxer Ronald Gavril won the vacant WBC Continental Americas light heavyweight title. The Romanian athlete defeated the American Haynell Wheeler in an eight-round match at the Cow Palace in Daly City (California).

For Gavril (36 years old), it was the 23rd professional victory (18 KOs), his record was complemented by 3 defeats.
The Romanian now has five wins in a row, the previous four by TKO, but the last two fights took place at light heavyweight, after previously boxing at super middleweight.
Heynell Wheeler (29 years old) suffered his third professional defeat (1 KO), he also has 7 victories (6 by knockout), according to Agerpres.
