Augusta Montaruli, Deputy Minister of Higher Education Institutions of the Government of Meloni, resigned today.
Montarulli belongs to Italy’s Adelphia party, the Prime Minister of Italy and has been convicted of misappropriating local government funds.

According to Italian justice, Montaruli Treasury-funded purchases of expensive clothes, handbags, and books of advice on personal and sexual life.
She maintains her innocence, that she did not harm public funds, and announces that she will appeal to the Court of Justice of the European Union.
This is the first resignation of a member of the Georgian government Meloni since its inception in October last year.
