The reaction from former Prime Minister George Papandreou’s office to the ND’s announcement of a rumored secret meeting with Alexis Tsipras a few months ago was harsh.
A high-pitched statement from Mr. Papandreou’s office stressed that “history will not be rewritten by servants of interests and institutions, and by politicians and parties that offend democracy and the intelligence of every democratic citizen.”
“It takes bottomless impudence and arrogance on the part of the party leadership to criticize the PASOK government that saved the country,
Which led the country to bankruptcy, on the verge of a national catastrophe, with huge waste, while undermining the authority of Greece with successive scandals and accounting frauds,
Who caused the squares of hatred and division and colluded in them with those who supported the same easy but false promises, with Zappa on the one hand, with the programs of Thessaloniki on the other, and now they are rebelling against each other,
Which demonstrates such great trust in the Greeks that it follows them electronically,
Which feeds the autonomous media with government advertising,
Which speaks of development and justice, but with its decisions excluded citizens from energy production, so that several companies that collect billions of euros every year, due to dirty self-interest, could collect and plunder the wealth of the Greek people.
Which today still works with direct client assignments, hiding behind the polarization that they cultivate with SYRIZA, instead of dealing with the real problems of the Greeks.
