A few hours after the press wrote about the meeting between Victor Ponta and AUR leader George Simion, the ex-prime minister reacted by admitting that he had met with Simion to “consult him on the economic program.”

“There is no secret – and nothing to hide! As I said before, I have management experience (especially in the economic field) which everyone recognizes and which can be useful in this crisis situation! Now I work in the private sector and I see an absolute disaster – and the terrible problems that any Romanian company faces every day just because it is Romanian!” – explains Viktor Ponta.

“I am open and want to help certain politicians – if they ask me! I am on good terms with Mr. Çolaku, but for reasons I do not know or understand, other people in the PSD are opposed to greater cooperation. However, I hope that some of the economic projects that I promoted during my tenure as Prime Minister that were successful will be revived after Mr. Cholaku becomes Prime Minister in May.

George Simion is the new political leader (I like the fact that he is “alive” but don’t agree with all his ideas) – he leads a party with no management experience – if he consults me about the economic program, I will give him my opinion and support him with all frankness! This is what we discussed when we met. And I will continue to be open to supporting any PSD or AUR projects in the economic sphere (in PNL and USR I do not see such projects at all – in this sphere there is a complete vacuum and an extremely harmful lack of competence and consistency; that is, they are the same in the economy, as well as their boss – Mr. President Iohannis, self-sufficient, selfless and arrogant without any substance)”, – writes the former prime minister
