Another international co-production film will be filmed in Greece, specifically in Corfu and the Peloponnese.

The project is an adaptation ofOdyssey» Homer Umberto Pasolini. The film’s script was co-written with director Edward Bond and John Colley.

The main characters of the film, co-produced by Italy, Greece, Great Britain and France, are Ralph Fiennes (“Menu”, “The Grand Budapest Hotel”, “The English Patient”) and Juliette Binoche (“On Both Sides of the Blade”, “Chocolate”). They have been working together again since The English Patient in 1996.

According to Deadline, American indie company Bleecker Street has acquired distribution rights in North America and is expected to hit theaters in 2024.

The story follows the return of Odysseus (Fiennes) to Ithaca 20 years later dejected and unrecognizable. Judging by the summary, a lot has changed in his kingdom. His beloved wife Penelope (Binos) is now imprisoned in her own home, pursued by ambitious suitors, while their son Telemachus faces death at the hands of the suitors, who see him as an obstacle in their relentless pursuit of Penelope and the kingdom.
