A new video shared by the Ukrainian military on social media shows dramatic moments from the trenches as they repulsed an attack by the Russian army.

Although the footage lasted just 38 seconds, it captured intense fighting, showing what appeared to be a small group of defenders forced to defend trenches several meters deep.

At 00:16, a Russian soldier is seen trying to get into the position, which is being shot by a Ukrainian defender, and at 00:26 and 00:32, other Russian soldiers are seen. It is not clear where the footage was taken, but the scenery seen in it suggests that it is recent.

In the nearly 12 months that have passed since the start of the Russian invasion on February 24 of last year, several such videos have appeared on social networks, which recorded the fighting from the point of view of the Ukrainian military.

One of the first such recordings appeared at the end of May last year, showing a spectacular action by American and British volunteers fighting in Ukraine, who ambush a Russian armored personnel carrier, which they initially fail to destroy.

Later it turned out that the son of a British parliamentarian, who went to fight on the side of Ukraine, was also involved in this action.

Great video about the war in Ukraine

A month later, another video shot by the Kyiv military captured the view of Russian shelling from inside an armored vehicle near the front line.

The footage shows several Ukrainian soldiers sitting on top of what appears to be an armored personnel carrier or a military truck, while other armored vehicles are moving in a column scattered behind them. All this time, bombs are falling around the fighters at a short distance, it is possible that they were launched from mortars.

In July, James Vazquez, the most famous American volunteer in Ukraine, published a series of videos depicting combat in the early days of the war. Photos Vazquez previously posted on his Twitter page show him taking part in fighting in the Kyiv region, including the liberation of Lukyanivka, a town of about 11,000 people located 60 kilometers east of the Ukrainian capital .

Other September footage captured heavy fighting by the Ukrainian military in Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine and how they ambushed Russian armored vehicles on the border with Kharkiv region, near the city of Lyman.

The video was shot less than a month before Limanul was released by Kyiv forces.

In November, another video showed that Volodymyr Zelenskyi’s presidential regiment also arrived at the front line, and was sent to the front line, most likely to the “meat grinder” near Bakhmut. And this footage shows the heavy fighting of Ukrainian defenders under fire from the Russian occupiers from different directions.

Last month, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense released a video on social media that showed a war-like operation in which Ukrainian special forces crossed the Dnipro River into Kherson at night and destroyed several Russian positions before retreating.

This recording was made both from a drone and from the level of the Ukrainian military.
