OUR China announced that he would take countermeasures against American organizations that undermine China’s sovereignty, China’s Foreign Ministry said at a press conference today.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin made the announcement at the start of a regular press briefing after the US shot down a Chinese balloon and said he would sanction six companies linked to China’s balloon surveillance program.

“The US abused power, overreacted, escalated the situation and used it as an excuse to illegally impose sanctions on Chinese companies and institutions,” Wenbin said.

“China strongly opposes this and will take legal countermeasures against US entities that undermine China’s sovereignty and security.”

Wenbin stressed that China will resolutely defend its national sovereignty, its legitimate rights and interests.
