Turkey: 77-year-old woman was extracted alive 212 hours after the earthquake

Nearly 212 hours after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit southeastern Turkey, rescuers pulled a 77-year-old woman alive from the rubble of a seven-story apartment building in Antiyaman.

Fatma Jungor was released from her injuries and taken to the ambulance, which took her to the hospital for medical treatment.

Relatives of the elderly woman burst into applause and rushed to hug the rescuers, who are still struggling with time to find survivors among the rubble of the demolished buildings.

Eight days after the earthquake that claimed the lives of more than 37,000 people in Turkey and Syria, at least ten people have been rescued today.
