Street artist Banksy showed on Tuesday, Valentine’s Day, a work that seems to illustrate the theme of domestic violence, painted on the wall of a building in the seaside resort of Margate, located in the southeast of England, reports AFP.

The drawing shows a housewife of a specific appearance from the 50s and 60s, with a gouged eye and a knocked out tooth, standing next to an old freezer – a real object, not a drawing – from under which a man’s legs can be seen. outside.

The mural, titled “Valentine’s Day Mascara,” was posted by the artist on his Instagram account on February 14, the day many countries celebrate Valentine’s Day.

Several Internet users identified the place where the picture was taken – the small coastal town of Margate, in the county of Kent, an AFP journalist found out.

Three years ago, the mysterious artist from Bristol, who goes by the pseudonym, did another Valentine’s Day painting: a little girl shooting a catapult towards a bouquet of red flowers.

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Banksy, whose works often sell at auctions for record sums, has declared his support for Ukraine. In January, he put 50 serifographs up for sale, the proceeds were sent to Ukrainian citizens.
