On Monday, Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucé appointed Bohdan-Ionel Floricel, a former SRI employee with more than 12 years of experience in the tax service, as deputy secretary general of Romania’s Digitization Authority (ADR), G4Media.ro reported. The head of ADR, Dragos Vlad, told HotNews.ro that the authorities need his expertise from the administrative side.

According to the decision signed on February 13 by Prime Minister Čuke, before this appointment, Bohdan-Ionel Floricel headed the PNRR monitoring service at the Romanian Digitization Authority.

The Digitalization Authority of Romania (ADR) together with the Special Telecommunications Service (STS) and the Romanian Information Service (SRI) will manage public private cloud – An IT platform that will host the IT systems of central government agencies and provide e-services to the public, a platform that has more than €560 million in funding from the PNRR.

G4Media.ro reported on Tuesday that according to his public resume, Bohdan-Ionel Floricel is a graduate of the National Academy of Information and a former SRI officer who specialized in fighting cross-border crime in military unit 0964 in Bucharest between 2000 and 2007.

In 2007, he started his career in the National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF), first as the head of the secret information service, then as the head of the personnel service and deputy general secretary.

The Government and the Ministry of Statistics did not want to officially comment on this information, the only one who wanted to say something, without commenting on the past in the Research Institute, was the president of ADR:

  • “Bohdan Ionel Florisel is a person who has experience of working as a high civil servant in ANAF, and ADR as an institution needs experience from the administrative side. He will coordinate the proper functioning of economic and administrative departments in accordance with legal authority.” Dragos Vlad, president of ADR, told HotNews.ro on Tuesday.

In the property declaration dated May 11, 2022, in which the income for the year 2021 is indicated, Bohdan-Ionel Florichel stated that he received a salary of 114,274 lei from ANAF as Deputy General Director, another 252,542 lei as a member of the Administrative Board of Eximbank and 29,122 lei as a member of the board of directors of the National SME Loan Guarantee Fund (FNGCIMM).
