An unforgettable night for two at his opera house Paris will have a chance to win a super happy couple.
An experience a la… The Phantom of the Opera is offered by Airbnb for a meager €37 for a one-night stay in one of the most famous buildings in the French capital.
Balcony 37 of the Palais Garnier (the so-called Opera building), where everyone wants to take a seat to have an unobstructed view of the stage, will be turned into a bedroom with antique furniture.
Applications for this experience will open on March 1st. Those who are lucky will be able to enjoy their stay with one more person on June 16, 2023.
During their stay, the lucky ones will see the Opera dancers rehearse, practice ballet, enjoy a backstage dinner and explore the magnificent 19th-century building, which even has an underground lake (which, by the way, was the inspiration for Gaston’s novel Leroux and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical) .
The guests will be greeted by Veronique Dubrul Leroux, great-granddaughter of the author of The Phantom of the Opera.
As part of the project, Airbnb will finance exterior renovations and upgrade the opera’s online platform.
This is not the first time Airbnb has offered such an unusual stay in the French capital at a low price. Among other things, inside the tank there are also rooms for sharks in the city aquarium, the catacombs, the glass pyramid of the Louvre and, last year, the Moulin Rouge.
“The idea is to inspire people to travel and dream, and to evoke a lot of emotions in travel,” Emanuel Marill, Airbnb’s head of Europe, the Middle East and Africa, told Reuters.
