
Deputy Foreign Minister Andreas Katsaniotis had a telephone conversation today with Turkish Ambassador to Athens Tsagatay Erziges.
During the conversation, the Deputy Minister expressed his deepest sorrow over the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and conveyed to the Turkish Ambassador the condolences of the Greek government and the Greek people in connection with the loss of life.
Mr. Katsaniotis reaffirmed Greece’s readiness to provide comprehensive assistance to Turkey and informed Mr. Erziges in detail about all the actions that have been taken so far to coordinate the organization, collection and sending of humanitarian materials to the neighbor. He highlighted the immediate mobilization and strong interest in aid from many organizations and individuals across the country.
For his part, the Turkish Ambassador thanked the Deputy Minister for the support and provision of humanitarian assistance from our country.
