Tony Petrea’s side produced a near-perfect match at the Sepsey Stadium in which the Dambos slipped through their fingers for a victory that would have been decisive in the race for 6th place.
The visitors opened the scoring in the 20th minute with Godberg Cooper, and the Russian Akhmatov made the score 2:0 (44th minute).
Cristiano Bergodi’s men reduced the difference in extra time of the first half thanks to Mario Rondon (min. 45+3).
The second half was really crazy, because the hosts were able to restore parity through Pavol Safrank (min. 56).
There were big moments from both sides and the goalkeepers made some very important saves.
In the end, it ended with a score of 2-2, and the fight for the 6th place remains open.
The stage will be closed by Petrolul Ploiești and Hermannstadt, who will also play on Monday from 20:00.
