According to the Ministry of Citizens’ Protection, from 5 to 11 February 2023, 17,327 traffic police calls were “interrupted” throughout Greece during 85,635 driver and vehicle checks. It is noted that 379 were for drunk driving.

In particular, violations confirmed by region were: 3119 in Attica, 2584 in Thessaloniki, 1797 in Central Macedonia, 1772 in Western Greece, 1634 in Crete, 1420 in Thessaly, 1250 in East Macedonia and Thrace, 1045 in Epirus, 760 in Peloponnese. , 550 in Western Macedonia, 493 in the Ionian Islands, 401 in Central Greece, 283 in the North Aegean and 219 in the South Aegean.

In particular, the confirmed violations concern:

7,178 for illegal parking, 3,791 for speeding, 810 for driving without a driver’s license, 575 for not wearing a seat belt, 385 for C.T.E.O., 379 for drunk driving, 317 for not wearing a safety helmet, 302 for using a mobile phone, 254 for uninsured vehicles, 210 for traffic light violations, 130 for driving in the opposite direction, 98 for incorrect maneuvers, 96 for worn tires, 76 for not keeping a safe distance, 71 for improper overtaking, 46 for noise, 42 for oncoming traffic on a one-way street, 27 for driver distraction, 27 for priority violation, 20 for exhaust fumes, 19 for not using child seats, 16 for improper use of lights, 12 for driving in the left lane, 8 for not wearing seat belts, 7 for overweight, 5 for traffic light violations, 4 for driving off the right side of the road, 2 for falsifying insurance policies, and 2,422 other violations.

At the same time, from February 6 to February 12, 2023, targeted actions of the Attica Traffic Authority were carried out in the area of ​​the coastal Athena Souni Avenue. In total, 322 checks of drivers and vehicles were carried out, 92 violations were confirmed, for which appropriate administrative fines were imposed.

In particular, violations were confirmed: 8 for revocation of a driver’s license, 6 for drunk driving, 3 for running a red light, 1 for not wearing a helmet and 74 for other violations.

In addition, 11 pairs of license plates, 6 driver’s licenses and 6 driver’s licenses were seized, and 1 vehicle was moved.

As noted in the Ministry of Citizens’ Protection, control will continue with the same intensity.
