The armed forces of USA on Sunday evening shot down an unidentified flying object over Lake Huron on the Canadian border. This is the third downed flying object in three days.
Earlier, Michigan Senator Elisha Slotkin tweeted that the US military was closely monitoring an object seen over Lake Huron. “We will learn more about what it is in the coming days, but for now rest assured that all parties have been focused on this since he crossed our waters,” he said.
A few hours ago, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced that it had temporarily closed airspace over Lake Michigan in the northern United States for national defense reasons.
“The FAA briefly closed some airspace over Lake Michigan to support Department of Defense operations. The airspace has been reopened,” the statement said.
Montana airspace was temporarily closed on Saturday, but the military said a fighter jet that took off to investigate a “radar anomaly” did not detect a flying object.
The United States believes that the first officially discovered object was a balloon controlled by the Chinese military and part of a fleet sent by Beijing to more than 40 countries on five continents for espionage purposes.
