DOCUMENTARY (2023)
Creator: Martin Webb
They appearedCast: Maria Sakari, Nick Kyrgios, Maria Sharapova
An interesting documentary – and not just for sports fans – about tennis was recently released on its Netflix platform. The creators of the corresponding F1 hit series are committed to taking us through the exciting, glamorous yet terribly demanding world of tennis, with some of the biggest talents of the new generation as guides. Among them is our very own Maria Sakkari, whom we follow on her way to last year’s grand tournament final in Indian Wells.
However, the series kicks off with an enjoyable episode focusing on arguably the most controversial player in action, Greek-Australian Nick Kyrgios. Very talented, but at the same time unstable and uneconomical, Kyrgios enters the 2022 Australian Open without much vision and ends up winning the doubles event in the company of his compatriot Thanasis Kokkinakis.
However, the most important thing here, as in the entire Netflix series, is not the serve, easy mistakes and points scored, but the psychological and human side of these top players, who often look like robots on the court, but they have real life, problems and often overwhelming demands to follow them.

DRAMA (2019)
Directed by: Casey Affleck
InterpretationsCast: Casey Affleck, Anna Pniewski, Tom Bower
On the Ertflix platform, we choose one of the most popular lately dystopias of the talented Casey Affleck. The American actor and director is signing his second film here (scenario – directing), starring simultaneously in this post-apocalyptic drama as a protective father. A decade after a terrible virus wiped out almost the entire female population of the planet, a father lives on the road with his young daughter, one of the few survivors. The two will go through various adventures that will test their personal connection in a world full of violence. The first thing that matters in these cases is the atmosphere, and in this area Affleck’s film scores quite high. He, for his part, presents another very responsible performance, conveying the essence of a man who is ready to sacrifice himself to protect what he loves, in the most difficult circumstances. His film is simple, but captivates the viewer through excellent camera work and sensuality.
